Caring Today-Our History

Twenty plus years ago, the name family caregiver didn’t exist. Yet, we knew there were tens of millions of individuals caring for their family members, who because of health challenges, were unable to fully care for themselves.

Unprepared for their new, demanding responsibilities many of these special folks were experiencing high levels of stress, depression, feeling overwhelmed and very alone!

Our goal was to give them a home that embraced their selfless efforts, introduced them to others with similar stories, delivered expert advice and let them know there is a community to support them.

We strongly believed this home fit well under the roof of family caregiver.

In the Winter 2004 the first issue of our magazine, Caring Today, Practical Advice for the Family Caregiver was launched and we can confidently say… the rest is history.

Today, twenty-one years later, our resources include ongoing online caregiver-focused information, targeted blogs, newsletters and videos and our expert guest Bounce Back podcast.

As early pioneer identifying the family caregiver story, we feel honored to do our part in continuing to find resources and support to help uplift this noble community that is now 53 million strong.
